Why It Matters

When gutters fail, everything downstream fails with them.

Water is the number one enemy of your house. Cheap gutters, wrong sizing, or clogged sections don’t just look bad — they push water where it doesn’t belong. Here’s what we see every week on damage inspections.

01

Rotted fascia & soffit

Overflow soaks the wood behind your gutter. Paint bubbles, wood softens, and repair costs run into the thousands.

02

Foundation cracks

Water pooling at the drip line saturates soil, expands clay, and pressures your slab. Cracks in Houston homes usually start here.

03

Interior water damage

Once fascia goes, water finds its way into wall cavities and attic space. Then you’re paying for drywall, insulation, and mold remediation.

04

Landscaping erosion

Downspouts dumping at the wall wash out beds, kill grass, and stain siding. Every rainstorm makes it worse.

The Houston Problem

Most gutters weren’t built for this city.

Harris County pulls in over 50 inches of rain a year — and delivers it in short, violent bursts. NOAA’s Atlas 14 puts our 100-year, 1-hour peak at 15.3 inches per hour. That’s the storm your gutters need to survive without overflowing.

The standard 5″ gutter that most builders spec? It can’t move that water fast enough. The seams leak. The hangers pull loose. And when Harris County dumps 8 inches in an afternoon, your fascia takes the hit.

The DC Pines System

Every part, sized for Houston. Not for the catalog.

We fabricate on-site, install with hidden hangers 24–30″ apart, and pair the whole system with oversized downspouts and micromesh protection. Here’s what goes on your house — and why.

02 / HANGERS

Hidden hangers, 24–30″ apart

Concealed hangers screwed directly into fascia, 24 to 30 inches apart depending on the run and load — not the 32″ or 36″ most crews use. More anchor points means the system holds under load without sagging.

03 / DOWNSPOUTS

Oversized 3×4″ downspouts

Standard 2×3″ downspouts handle 600 sq ft of roof each. Ours handle 1,200. That’s the difference between water moving and water backing up during a July thunderstorm.

How It Works

Three engineering choices that keep water moving.

This isn’t magic. It’s just doing the math on Houston rainfall and building to it — every job, no exceptions.

A

Correct pitch, every run

We set a built-in slope of about ¼″ per 10 feet toward the downspout. Water can’t sit and can’t back up — even in a slow drizzle. Most bad installs are dead flat.

B

Sealed at every junction

Geocel 2320 tri-polymer sealant at every corner and outlet — the pro-grade sealant that stays flexible in Houston heat instead of cracking. Corners are the failure point on 90% of the gutters we replace.

C

LeafBlaster Pro micromesh

The optional stainless steel screen we install keeps leaves, pine needles, and seed pods out while water pulls straight through. See the guard we spec →

The Screen We Install

LeafBlaster Pro. The only guard we put on your house.

There are a hundred gutter guards on the market. Foam inserts, plastic screens, snap-on hoods, the ones sold at the big-box store — we’ve pulled them all off, and put better ones on. When homeowners hire us for guard protection, we install LeafBlaster Pro. Here’s why.

LBLeafBlaster Pro · Contractor-Installed Only

Stainless steel micro-mesh, engineered so water goes in and debris doesn’t.

The screen is a fine stainless steel mesh with a patented Z-Bend pattern that lifts leaves, pine needles, seed pods, and roof grit off the surface — while water pulls straight through into the gutter. It’s held rigid by an extruded aluminum frame that won’t sag under Houston oak-leaf loads. Bolted to the gutter’s front lip, then tucked under your shingles so it disappears from the ground.

LeafBlaster Pro sells exclusively through professional contractors — it’s not on shelves, not on Amazon, not something a handyman can pick up at Home Depot. Which is exactly why it works.

Why Owned by a Roofer Matters

We see the damage bad gutters cause. Every week.

DC Pines is a roofing company first. That means when we spec a gutter system, we’re not just selling aluminum — we’re preventing the calls we get every Monday morning after a Sunday storm: rotted decking, soaked insulation, foundation cracks, ceiling stains.

You don’t need someone who installs gutters. You need someone who understands what water does to a house when they don’t work — and builds accordingly.

Frequently Asked

Answers to what most homeowners ask.

How long does a full gutter install take?
Most single-family homes are done in a single day. Larger homes with detached garages or complex rooflines can go into a second day. We won’t leave your house without functional drainage.
Can I keep my existing gutters and just add guards?
Sometimes yes, if the existing gutters are 6″ seamless aluminum and the hangers are still tight. We’ll inspect first. If your gutters are 5″ or sectional, adding guards on top of an undersized system doesn’t fix the underlying capacity problem.
What’s included in the lifetime warranty?
Full material and workmanship warranty on the gutter system for as long as you own the home — and transferable to the next owner if you sell. Micromesh guards carry the manufacturer’s separate lifetime clog-free warranty.
Do you match custom paint colors?
We stock 27 baked-enamel factory colors that match every common trim palette in Houston. If your fascia is painted a custom color, we can hand-paint the fabricated gutter to match — small upcharge.
What about my landscaping?
We tarp beds under the work area and clean up every piece of old gutter, hanger, screw, and section before we leave. Foreman does a final walk with you before we’re paid.
How do you handle sudden repairs during hurricane season?
If a storm damages your gutter after we install, call us — we prioritize existing customers over new sales during storm response. Warranty covers workmanship and material defects; storm damage is covered by your homeowners insurance, and we help document the claim.
