Jeff Ternois’s story begins in the heart of Texas, where the neighborhoods of Sugar Land and Missouri City shaped the foundation of a life built on resilience, discipline, and purpose. Raised alongside his twin brother by a determined single mother, Jeff learned early what it meant to persevere—lessons that would quietly guide every step of his journey.
In college, he chose a path rooted in service, studying criminal justice before earning his commission as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. What followed was not just a career, but a crucible. Over four years of active duty, Jeff rose to the rank of Captain, leading from the front in both Europe and Afghanistan. As an Infantry Platoon Leader, he carried the weight of responsibility for roughly 40 soldiers—planning missions, making critical decisions under pressure, and ensuring his men were prepared for the realities of combat. Beyond the battlefield, he managed over $20 million in military assets, including Stryker personnel carriers—tools of war that demanded precision, accountability, and trust.
But leadership, for Jeff, was never just about strategy—it was about people. That became even more evident when he was selected to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer for a Stryker infantry squadron in Europe, overseeing nearly 800 soldiers. In that role, he became the backbone of personnel operations, advising commanders, managing complex systems, and ensuring that every soldier—from the front lines to the rear—was accounted for, supported, and valued.
When Jeff transitioned out of the Army, his mission didn’t end—it evolved. He returned home and earned his MBA with a focus in real estate, setting his sights on building something lasting. He entered the homebuilding industry, gaining experience before stepping out to create his own path—founding a home building and roofing company that would help shape growing communities.
Yet success, for Jeff, was never measured by buildings alone. As he worked in emerging neighborhoods, he saw another need—one far more urgent. That realization led him to launch a community outreach program dedicated to helping homeless men and women find a path off the streets. What began as a local effort grew into something bigger: a voice for change. Jeff stepped into advocacy, working with Houston city leaders to champion policies that expand access to affordable housing and create opportunities for those too often overlooked.
